Description

Acetic Acid (CAS No.: 64-19-7), commonly known as vinegar (acetic acid) in everyday context, solidifies into ice-like crystals at room temperature when highly pure (>99%), hence also called glacial acetic acid. It is a fundamental saturated monocarboxylic acid and one of the most important organic chemical raw materials. Exhibiting typical carboxylic acid chemistry, acetic acid is strongly acidic and can undergo esterification with alcohols and react with bases and metal oxides. It holds a central position in modern chemical industry: its largest application is in producing vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), which is used to make polyvinyl acetate (PVA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). It is secondly used in synthesizing acetate ester solvents (e.g., ethyl acetate, butyl acetate) and serves as the oxidation reaction solvent in producing purified terephthalic acid (PTA). Furthermore, acetic acid is used as an acidity regulator in the food industry (as edible vinegar), in synthesizing various pharmaceuticals like aspirin in the pharmaceutical industry, and as a neutralizing agent and solvent in textile dyeing and printing. Our product, manufactured in Shandong, China, utilizes mature processes such as methanol carbonylation, achieving a purity of ≥99.8% with extremely low moisture and impurity content. It offers stable and reliable quality, meeting demands across various levels from basic chemical to fine synthesis applications.
